12th May 2010 - Cycle Time Trial - week 6

There are 6 weeks of our club cycle Time Trial completed already with over 60 participants having taken part in the 10mile course.  Last week we introduced the 18mile course with some people having faster times on the 1^st night than they did over the whole series last year which is a great sign. 

Last year’s record for the 10mile course which was held by Robin Kelly of Comeragh Cycle Club was broken by Robin himself last week who knocked off 23seconds to post an excellent time of 22.16mins.  Martin Kirwan has that time in his sights after posting 22.41 so far with Davin Power on 23.48.  In the ladies, Siobhán Kennedy has beaten her previous record to post 30.24 with Caroline Russell next on 31.00 and Anna Louise Muldoon next at 31.33. 

In the 18mile course last week, Martin Kirwan and Davin Power both set new pb’s for themselves to post 43.45 and 44.56 respectively with Aubrey Storey posting 47.45.  There are still plenty more weeks left so loads of time for improvements and new records.
