Feb 2010 Dungarvan 10 Miler Last weekend almost 1000 runners from all over the country descended on Dungarvan for the 19th Annual Quantum Life Dungarvan 10mile road race. The day was perfect, if a little cold in the shaded areas and the route was pretty flat which made for some fast times. We had 15 club members take part, all with fantastic results. Stephen Doyle was first from the club home in an excellent 1.04.12mins. Michael Bowes was next home in 1.04.50mins, knocking almost 4mins off his time from last year. Brian Slattery was next in 1.06.03 also improving on last year’s time by almost 2mins. Noel Dillon was next home in 1.07.47 with Andrew Hickey knocking over 7mins off last year’s time to finish in 1.08.53. Henry Moloney also improved by over 7mins to finish in 1.09.28. Paul Hallahan was not far behind in 1.10.26 with John Kinsella finishing in 1.13.32. Aidan McCarthy was happy with his time of 1.16.07 with Siobhán Dunphy just behind in 1.16.26 and Mark Daly just behind her in 1.16.46. Kieran Eaton managed to knock 30secs off last year’s time to finish in 1.19.02 with Norma Goggin having a great race to finish in 1.23.45. Caroline Russell finished in 1.28.07 with Roisín O’Grady happy to knock almost 6mins off her time last year to finish in 1.36.06. Michael Bowes, Brian Slattery and Noel Dillon didn’t relax too much after the race as they decided to get in an extra bit of training and cycled the 30miles back to Waterford.
